There are nowadays several hundreds different methods sold on the internet to develop the training, gymnastic and relationship with your horse. Some are very valid, some less. Some are very expensive and difficult to learn/approach. Some are very complex and need years to learn, some are the same price but have no content.
In any case among all of them not one is a 100% perfect fit for all students and all horses needs. Something is always missing…
My experience has taught me to get what the horse or the rider needs, from any method available without getting stuck in one single method. But to understand how to combine elements from each school we need to know a bit about the learning science behind it.
Learning quadrants (IN ITALIAN)
Where does the training method you have learned fall in the quadrants? Which quadrant would be a better fit for your horse traning?
Where does your ethic fall, which methods are you more confortable using? Do you prefer using pressure and release or positive reinforcement? Maybe a mix, maybe something else entirely?
Sometimes the method is right for you ethically, but maybe the exercises are not biomechanically correct for the horse and are slowly damaging his joints or legaments and are risking his long term health. Other times the exercises are great but you disagree strongly with how they’re taught to the horse.
Some schools are closed like a religious sect and apply very strict mentality that is not healthy for the person, a few that shall not be named use piramide scheme thecniques to trap the people into them, isolate them from their friends and get more and more money from them.
What I am trying to teach you, is how to undestand the underline principles of any school or method and thake home only what you and your horse need.
